Hello All, the New 550 has tremendous amount of coverage. I can attest to decent coverage up MM93 on The Turnpike (West Palm Beach Service Plaza). Also confirmed Contact from MM 107 while driving. Also noted that I Heard transmission as far north as MM130(spotty). Equipment used: Yaesu FTM 150R using 50W. 5/8 wave antenna mounted on bed of truck behind cab. Be mindful that Results will vary if using a 1/4 wave. Conclusion: any operator with a normal home vertical antenna at a height of 20' to 30' should be able to communicate with us from even a greater distance. Congratulations for those involved in getting that equipment installed and maintained.
